Totally unrelated to Mico's visit but I just wanted to post this

I've been cutting down on social media lately, deleting FB and IG on my phone. It was unfortunate that I was unable to deactivate both, I think Meta just made deactivating the account more cumbersome than before. I think deleting the app on my phone may be just as effective as deactivating. I can still access it through my laptop, but the apps not being on my phone is good. Because of that, I was able to finish NUMBER ONE in the DIAMOND LEAGUE in Duolingo, and yesternight was my100th day streak! Woo! So I got Duolingo down pat, but the exercise and blogging are lagging - especially exercise! Ugh! Perhaps once the semester finishes, I can start refocusing my energies on that, in addition to writing a paper with Emma and Dr. Zhou.

Anyway, this was just going to be a quick post. Not being on my phone made me focus on other things, and one of them was picking up my guitar again. These shots below are just so nice, haha! Not me as the subject, but I just love how the set looks. The bags may look awkward though, I just removed them from the couch and put them on the floor. The colour scheme and lighting are nice. I did not put any filters on these photos, that's just natural lighting. Or perhaps the AI of my phone processed it to look this good? The set is just amazing: the decor, the colour scheme, the lighting, the theme... It's just so nice :)

Mico's Fort Worth Visit - April 2023 - first two days

Mico flew to me from Manila in 3 April, and arrived safely in my arms by 2AM in 4 April. Here are some snippets of his first two days with me.

Here I am, on the way to the DFW Airport from Fort Worth Central Station. Train from FW to DFW is one hour. Very economical and efficient way of going to the airport.

First photo after four months of being physically separated. Reunited again, finally. <3

Some spring season flowers along the street of our apartment.

First date at Nizza Pizza. Not a plant-based restaurant, for sure. Had deep dish pizza, calzone, and stromboli. Masarap!

Mico picked up from school after class on a Wednesday. The weather was nice. We walked and got to see the beautiful foliage of spring along the museums.

Finally got to cook for the husband. I prepared this prior to his arrival and we ate when we got back from the airport. The leftovers we ate the next day. We had miyeokguk, mushroom tofu burger steak, and I cooked kimchi fried rice. We had beers on a warm spring day.

I'm so happy I get to have lunch with my husband. This is a VERY RARE occasion.

At night, we play with our beloved rats, Harry and Henry. Here, I am holding Henry close to me. Mico and I would sit on the floor or sofa and just have our rats play with us.
